I'm wondering if Generation is still going? Don't know since the last deadline was last year, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Generation is a annual manga publication that aims to produce professional standard Australian local manga.

So it is focussed on manga and NOT art right?
How long should 1 title be?and i guess most submissions are one shots right?

Sorry for the late reply. It is focused on Manga and not art.
The maximum length of a title can go up to 20 pages. However i get 5-10 pages submission the most. I guess a 10 page plus comic is too hard to most people.

It's still going... and i'm also preparing for the next issue....

I'm not too sure about the definition of zines... can you explain what you mean  more clearly?

Kinda hard to explain what zines are but, basically their magazines that are made at home, cheap and with as little cost as possible to the maker. It sort of an indie thing to do. The zines that I've seen have been about; musik, photos, spray art, art in general, random stories, sex, autobiographical stories...

There's some really whacked out stuff that gets written into zines, there was one where there was a story on how to fist one-self/loved one...

Well, Generation is a Self published magazine. but it doesn't share the characteristics of Zines.

We are more like Doujinshi in Japan --- where the artists publish their own comics and sell them in Comic Conventions/comic shops.

Since there is a big Self-publishing market in Japan, the self-publication culture has become very advanced and has a very high production quality--- with squarebound, glossy colour hard covers and good printing. we are more aiming at a high production quality like those in japan, and its cost is likely to be more expensive than Zines.

our content is mostly manga by different artists---most of them aiming to become a manga artists, or wish to produce their own manga. We produce works that are similar to manga in japan in terms of drawing style, drawing techniques and story.Our creation is restricted in the genre called "Manga", we don't print our random thoughts and ideas.

I think Generation is different from Zines in both content and production quality, so i don't think it's a zine.

This Generation comic looks interesting. But tell me, is it a manga or a comic? In my generous opinion, most styles apply manga, but it definitely looked comic to me. Would it be sold during the Mini animania coming soon?
