which is why personality tests are rather unreliable and they do not show the truth of that person's personality but rather attempt to classify them into a paticular groupings due to stereotypes.

Lol, I actually pretty much believe the MBTI typecast test. I did the typelogic one, though. Don't want to do it again, I know I'm an INFP.  Pretty much classic, though perhaps a touch more T nowadays. I fear I'm turning into my mom. -wry- First time I did it I was 100% intuitive, but second time it's gone down. In my opinion, personality tests are not meant to actually gauge your "personality" -- but rather your ideal, or what you are aiming towards. So if you keep getting different answers, ah, perhaps you haven't settled down yet? But after you do enough of them, you actually start to believe in your answers, which could result in a genuine personality "change", or at least a paradigm shift. So in a roundabout way, I suppose personality tests do work. They definitely don't, if you go into them thinking they wouldn't, though. I get tired of feeling like I'm consciously skewing my results, so I like to do those that ask questions that're less obvious -- and have pretty pictures at the end.  |
