Expression of interest for AnimeMQ T-shirts

G'day guys,

I've previously brought up with the rest of the execs the idea of circulating AnimeMQ T-shirts (which is partially why we are running a drawing contest - we want some funky art to wear!).

I've now gotten an idea of where we could get shirts produced, BUT there's got to be enough people interested in getting hold of one to make a purchase of a bulk run worthwhile.

Who's up for it? I'm definitely in favour of something AnimeMQ-related I can take with me once I graduate.

But would the art be mainly based on the anime drawing competition you're running now? As its not requiring them to base their art on a tshirt design...it might not be suited : / unless your planning on editting...?

Whether the design is based on a winning submission from the current competition depends on how quickly we can get it to production after the 30th April.

Otherwise, if anyone has a design already on hand, or can cook up something good on the quick, then we could have it sooner.

I will include this in the next proper newsletter, which I should have a copy for proof-reading to the other execs sometime this week.

P.S I would be outraged if it was more than $20, and if it was $20, I would expect a good quality shirt that I can get good use out of.

I'm presuming that unit price could go down if we can get a big enough run. Otherwise, I have no control over what price the supplier I found (or rather begged SUAnime to disclose) charges.

Just plain black with little red writing across the pocket if I recall correctly. ^_^;

I think Darius had the leftovers from that run... or something. o.o;

Yes thats right, Black polo shirt with red embroidered writing saying AnimeMQ. I get pretty good wear out of it and it is of decent quality. Im often seen sporting it to the loans library.
The only person I've seen wear one outside of Animania is Mike which is how I qualify the "only person in Australia" claim. I suppose it's wrong if Darius has the leftovers but I still have never seen him wear one.

That Simpsons rendition of Haruhi is freaky Ray. Was it someone's photochop (I find it difficult to believe that it could have featured for real)?

Yes the Simpsons style Haruhi is someone elses work. Its from a thread on 4chan from a while ago. It comes in a much larger size with the whole gang but its shrunken here for a nice avatar size.

How many approx. would we need to make the bulk screen printed run worthwhile? like i said before embroidery places probably dont mind small runs but the unit cost goes up.

I haven't asked yet. As you already know, my PC's rooted, and it's gotten worse - now it won't even boot up properly.

Generally they like to have a minimum of 50 or up to make a printing run.
