Hey everyone! To tie in with the Tezuka Exhibition at the Art Gallery the Chauvel are running some things from March 29-April 1st.

Check it out here

Tickets:
Adults $15
Concessions $12
Kids/Seniors $9
Philip Brophy Lecture $9/$7

They will be showing:
- Black Jack (the movie) Thursday, 29th March 7pm (Japanese with English subs)
- Astro Boy & Kimba (4 opening episodes, originals) Friday, 30th March 7pm (Japanese with English subs) the description also mentions The Amazing Three...so maybe they forgot to put it in the title? Altho the 80's Atom really needs 2 eps for the opening..
- Shorts Program, Saturday, 31st March 1pm
- Public Lecture Tezuka:From Manga To Anime (by curator Philip Brophy), Saturday, 31st March 3pm
- The Fantastic Adventures Of Unico (movie) Saturday, 31st March 4:30pm (for kids - ie dubbed)
- Jungle Emperor Saturday, 31st March 6:30pm (Japanese with English subs)
- Astro Boy & Kimba (3 opening episodes), Sunday, 1st April 1pm (for kids - ie dubbed)
- Metropolis (movie), Sunday, 1st April 4pm (dubbed I think)

So anyone interested? And what are you interested in seeing?

I'm interested in the shorts, lecture, Unico and the opening episodes in Japanese I guess. I haven't seen the Black Jack movie before either...

I've probably seen some of the shorts before (e.g. Jumping) and they are well worth a look.

Brophy tends to annoy some people but I like his stuff   Embarrassed

Yeah Unico too - I don't think I've ever seen any so it should be interesting.

Haha... I may as well see EVERYTHING on Saturday  Cheesy

The Black Jack movie is OK. A bit disjointed but then again it's only one show in the entire milieu. If you think of Tezuka as only old-fashioned kids' "Cartoons", then this will be an eye-opener. I won't see this at the Chauvel as I'll be working that day - good thing I have the DVD Smiley
