As I've promised earlier, I have made my deliberations on the winning entries for this semester's drawing competition.

The winners are... *drum roll*

1st - William Wong
2nd - Mina Dai
3rd - James Chen

Runners-up: Ben Gidiec, Bruce Huynh, Jenny Tan, and Judith Lam (from UNSW)

The prizes for the top 3 are:

1st - First choice of one of the two DVD's we are giving away - Howl's Moving Castle and My Neighbour Totoro
2nd - Second pick of the DVD's
3rd - A free movie ticket to see Tales of Earthsea (currently showing) at Dendy Newtown, or in fact, any film showing there (yep, it's a movie ticket voucher, but it's on us Wink).

Would the winners please see or otherwise contact the AnimeMQ execs for their prizes ASAP.

A big thanks to all who participated! As for those who were runners-up, don't fret! We may still use your work for our merchandise, so your efforts may not be in vain Smiley

I know I said before that we might offer Pocky as a prize, but we kind of canned that at the last moment. But hey, if you can find me on campus, perhaps I might treat you to a box Wink

This is William Wong's winning piece of work. Great job with the blacklining and original concept - your effort will be well rewarded Smiley

NB: The following pictures don't quite do the real things justice due to having to shrink them down to an acceptable size for attachment. They look much better when viewed in person.

In second place, we have Mina Dai's show of mad pencil skillz. Lots of detail, and looks really nice Smiley Good job!

James Chen turned out to be quite the dark horse for this competition, as I had previously never heard of him on campus. However, I was quite impressed by his entry, and I'm sure he digs a free movie as much as the next guy Smiley

Jenny gave not one, but two entries, for this competition Smiley

This was her primary entry - plenty of fanservice LOL

And this was her second entry for a bit of random fun:

Bruce handed me this one as his contribution to the cause:

Judith Lam from UNSW decided to try her hand in our competition, and this was her entry. I hope this may be an encouragement to all the artists from other anime clubs to try their hand next time around Smiley

And last, but not least, we have Ben Gidiec's enthuasiastic contribution to the competition. I received in his entry in a custom made envelope, complete with a draft copy of his entry, and I did notice that he used glued tissue to make for an interesting effect with the wings, although it didn't quite show up too well in the scans.

A nice try by one of our new recruits to AnimeMQ Smiley Remember guys, no matter what your level of ability, you gotta be in it to win it Wink

As I said before, if you can find me on campus, I might treat you to a packet as a prize Wink Go ask the execs for clues Cheesy

On a more serious note, I've been told by Qem that the winners have not come to claim their loot yet. Please get in touch with Qem ASAP to get them Smiley

Also Third Place (James Chen) should talk to me (Ray) if you want to get your ticket. We can pay for your ticket at our group screening or a voucher valid at any session at Dendy.

Nope, those are all the entries that I received, and no, I don't do the 'pull some extra stuff out my ass' trick Wink
