Hey everyone,

Since graduation is looming closer and closer for me (AT LAST!!) it's time for me to seriously consider what I'm going to do after uni. At the moment this plan basically involves:

01 Get a real job.
02 GOTO 01
03 Fight crime in space!

What have you people got in mind (if anything) or what would you like to do post-graduation (no matter how bizarre it is)?

I want to work in the film industry in some way. Ideally in Production Design.

Or something like that...

I wouldn't mind getting involved in film or stage productions again, maybe as an auxiliary interest to anything else I do.  Like the way I worked with CSE Revue.

But for now, I'm in London, just started working as a web developer for a major magazine.  Am going to see how this works out.

Yeah that would be something I can imagine you doing. It sounds like it'd be pretty fun even if you are dealing with crazy Hollywood types. Actually that might be half the fun. >_>

>>Geoff
That gig you have in London sounds pretty awesome, hopefully it wroks out well for you. Are you planning on staying in England permanently?

01: Get a job, any job
02: Graduate
03: Remain at job (see 01) until I find one that will benefit from a UWS Civil Engineering degree
04: lol what???
05: Profit!
06: Unearth a huge underground bunker containing Gundams and suddenly develop Amuro-like levels of how to read instruction manuals
07: Kill my friend in combat
08: Laugh in the face of the situation
09: and so on and so forth, leading to
10: Arrive at my final ever combat sortie and die a manly explosive death.  This includes having my Gundam impaled on the beam saber of the opposing commander, grabbing the arm of his MS and self destructing in his face.  I'll avoid the temptation to cut open his cockpit first, since that in itself creates a piece of plot armour for the pilot.  If his name is Kira then there's even less point...

wow that's strangely inspiring.
At the moment I'm preparing an application for Google's 3 month internship at the start of next year. After that I'd like to either continue on there for a while or look into  getting a government job in something computer forensics related. Which seems to translate into either the AFPHTC or ASIO... from my current reading if I might not need to moce to the ACT but I would be on a lot of flights. To everywhere. >_>
Provided all goes according to plan... otherwise there's a lot of other ideas I have. Smiley

Pity they have an office in the middle of North Ryde. Most awkward to get to place ever.

Whoo Canada!

Too many IT-related organisations are based in North Ryde Sad

I absolutely refuse to commute to North Ryde on a daily basis though, regardless of how cool the job may sound.

Yeah, it'd be alright if you lived in the area... but from what I can tell there's no easy way to get around there through public transport. =/

I'm not sure I could put up with 5 years of horrible commuting.
