Hi, I'm a first year, so naturally I'm going to be a pain in the butt and make trouble, but as a fan of Love Hina, both the manga and the anime I must protest to James Zhang's review (which by the way the actualy review I have nothing against) as he had several mistakes in facts (names) that should not have been made if he enjoyed it so much to give it 4 and half stars!

mistakes: Mitsumi instead of Mutsumi
Makoto instead of Motoko, not mention she is a Kendo expert, not just martial arts

Sorry for being a pain in the butt, but it bugged me. Seriously though, don't you guys ever have pet peeves about your anime? (or things that revolve around it)

The author James graduated a long time ago and is now at Price Waterhouse Coopers. I think you would do well to build a bridge Wink

Oh! James was only around in 2004 IIRC.

It's possible that he was working off of a scanlated copy.

See when he wrote that review, he was working on an essay for one of his Japanese subjects, in which he compared the fan translation and official translation.

Fan translations can sometimes stick in your mind, but they are not always the most accurate. It's sort of like Tessaiga and Tetsuaiga with Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru vs Sesshomaru. I work with the fantranslation best, because that was what I was first introduced to.

(I actually became administrator of an Inuyasha board three months before I touched the manga (which I couldn't really get into, and six before I saw the anime.) . XD - way before it started coming out in Australia. =/

Searching for both brings up results for the same character for myself.

If you like, you can write a second review which we can put up beside it. Smiley

I meant no malice when I posted, but in all seriousness, the club is barely able to find a place for screenings and loans yet he wants to badger us about something that is a non-issue in comparison?

Saying that he is 'naturally going to be a pain in the butt' also doesn't help his case much.

I agree, thats harsh jwai :/ besides, its a public forum, one can post whatever thats within the rules.

first years, or heck, even the non-executives have nothing to do with the arrangements and/or the stupidity of the administration (U@MQ or whatever its called). its a voluntary club after all.

anyway, back to the topic. deemo, as someone said, its prolly cause of translation differences.
