Kinda hard to imo. I mean sure you can get your hair cut like Mika Nakashima. I mean sure you can wear Vivienne Westwood clothes. I mean sure you can probably get some other people to cosplay the other characters (Shin ftw!). But that doesn't mean you should. Because you will more than likely ruin it for everyone else.

What do you mean by that? Are you saying that no one's good enough to do a NANA cosplay? I'm just saying that not everyone can cosplay characters they like, whether it be the wrong body type or an obvious lack of passion. With that said, passion does not overcome wrong body types. :p |

Well maybe they got a sex change or something.
That said, I'm more inclined to think the judges care more about the costume, and the effort that you put in to replicate the character than if you resemble the character or not. Of course, if it's something simple like L where you kind of just slap up some pants and call it a day, looking like the character will really help (and probably still won't let you win anything).
