It really is the best game.  There isn't much that can beat a game of this great caliber.

I've been playing Days of Ruin a fair bit myself. The US version has a lot more character in translation of dialogue than the EUR version.

I'm enjoying Days of Ruin far more than any other Advance Wars before. Apart from the characters and the new, darker and grittier (by Nintendo standards here), I like the units in this one, particularly with the naval units and the ranged units. The addition of motorcycles also makes capturing cities much more easier.

Any links to reviews (or just general descriptions) forthcoming, for those of us too lazy to find that stuff ourselves?

It's funny because in some maps, infantry is better than bikes just because bikes get screwed over by forests.

I'd rate Bikes over Recon though for the simple fact that they can actually capture things at nearly the same movement speed.

i like this version better too... seems much more warlike than the previous and also relies more on strategic play than the previous that uses co powers tat r way too hax... units r much fairer and dont make some stuff too powerful... and i reckon the use of co in unit is better and it also dont make co power too hax and then i dont rly use the co power tat much coz it rly isnt tat powerful as previous and the unit cant move

I see what ya mean, i liked it better than the last game too. Less vibrant pastel colours, instead of having that gaudy *We're Blue moon, we're all going to dress in blue  Tongue* for each of the CO's, they've got military uniforms, or just casual clothes. The storylines better too, much darker and more serious, it feels like a proper post apocalyptic scenario and the voice actors really flesh out their characters well.

Now i just have to work out how to fight those damn meteor laser fences >_>

There are voiceovers? Shocked

To take out those lines of plasma, you need to blow up one of the meteors that the line joins with. Bombers are especially good for this.

is there voices in there? i dont think i heard anything like that...
meteors pretty much nearly always need 2 hits from the highest dmging stuff like megatank, bomber, battleship unless u got a co... but then only a few mission u rly need to blow them up as some u could just use them as objects to block ur enemy
