spent abit browsing some animes to possibly watch in the holi.... erm... i got nothing...

im in need of some anime to watch.... unfortunatly, im very picky with my choices.... but here's my preference

- SciFi... maybe
- i want an epic series, like omfg story and action
- oh yeh... action is a plus but not necessarily
- no SD(super deformed) plz
- no fanboy(ecchi) or fangirl stuff

any suggestions? lol what?

atm im thinkin of gettin Macross Frontier...

sorry i hate sci-fi xD;;

i prefer like old japanese... stuff
like peace maker, mononoke, amatsuki....

for something epic i watch one piece xDD;;
I usually watch a lot and then wait for a couple of months till more eps come out

i can't be bothered with bleach or naruto e___e;;
ive lost my interest for them

your best bet is just browsing crunchyroll until something hits your interests
thats how i found my stuff hahaha
i can usually tell by the screencaps .__.

gasaraki apparently is good. i haven't seen it tho. i've just finished watching aquarion. crappy series corny combats and is just terrible work. the movie is decent but still unable to redeem how crap the series is. since you are after sci fi you must have seen rahxephone, FMP and Evangelion. hum lets see...

cowboy beebop
~ old one but good
Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo ~ been looking for a decent fansub of this
Last Exile ~ haven't watched either but apparently its really good
Kumo no Mukou, Yakusoku no Basho ~ quite emo
Hoshi no Koe ~ emo but quite good. some people would disagree.
wolfs rain ~ old but good
on your mark ~ an old musical by hayao miyazaki. its opens up with a massacre. just showed miyazaki's evil side a bit.
texhnolize ~ cyberpunk, death themed.
Origin-Spirit of the past ~ quite good and i actually mistaken it for a ghibli film until that really annoying middle part.
Jin Roh ~ basically red riding hood terrorist suicide bomber style. you just can't beat that.
Nadesico ~ old sci-fi, quite good
Patlabor ~ its awesome and ld school, but the movies are emo.
Lain ~ OMG I love this series. its like the ecstacy for sci-fi psychological anime fans.
Karas ~ good minus that one yaoi episode.
Zipang ~ been wanting to watch this for ages.
Saikano ~ its really awesome. its like giving chii from chobits nukes.
Simoun ~ hard to get and imo this is actually a very good yuri sci-fi. fantastic artwork too. a bit slow towards the middle, poor ending.
Black Cat ~ whilst i can't class this as sci-fi i find this thing awesome.
Keroro Gunsou ~ a friend gave me it and i still haven't watched it.
Bubblegun Crisis ~ a must to watch but i bet you have.
Innocent Venus ~ mecha & yaoi. just about the only yaoi anime i can tolerate.
Blue Drop ~ yuri with a space battleship style combat sci-fi. my antidote whilst watching innocent venus. (its like countering smoking with drinking)
Gatekeepers 21 ~ one of my earlier sci-fi favs. a bit emo side.
mezzo ~ awesome. its prequel Mezzo-forte is a H-anime tho. blood and guts, if mezzo-forte then rape too. just about the only hentai i can tolerate.
Parasite Dolls ~ apparently it is good.
Silent Mobius ~ old school sci-fi, a bit corny.
Kite-Liberator ~ seen it, likes it, but forgot most of it already. its prequel is a H-anime. from memory its heaps of gore.
Hack/ Hacksign/ etc.. ~ haven't gotten round to watching it. i am ashamed as a sci-fi anime fan to have not watched this.
Burst Angel ~ awesome, its like seeing trigger happy rei.
Starship Troopers ~ dunno what this is but apparently it is an adaptation of the movie by same name.
Galerians ~ shit. just plain shit.
Ghost in the Shell ~ a must to watch
Fafner ~ meh. it tries hard, fails to fascinate me.
Daphne in the brilliant blue ~ short description: tits and guns. (this description is strongly disputed by my friend who gave me this)

@SOO-DA
Well it doesnt hav to be SciFi, i just assume thats where all the better animes are... cause i sum things up by either
scifi anime or school life anime.... theres more i know.. but im a simple man Cheesy

an example of one well... Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanehoheto, it wasnt scifi and it was epic lolz

@PenPen
hey i liked Fafner Undecided
cowboy beebop and bubblegum crisis.. yes... i know they were dubbed and available on tv for me before... but i wasnt into anime then... and atm, still not bothered to get them... maybe i should eh

oh yeh.... comedy's piss me off... really only when i just dont find them funny at all

Tengen Toppa
Death Note
Higurashi
Black Lagoon + Second Barrage
Elfen Lied

Lovely Complex
Seirei no Moribito
Azumanga Daioh

Kimi ga Nozomu Eien
Claymore

+ notable mentions:
Puni Puni Poemy
Sumomomo Momomo
Ouran Host Club

PLUS!!!! thoughts on series mentioned by PenPen-kun that i have watched

cowboy beebop - dont watch it - it is terrible imo
Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo ~ one of the better movies ive seen, but doesnt beat out a good series
on your mark ~ Very nice music video - good song and good animation. only 6 mins tho Tongue
Lain ~ If u liked evangelion's wtf side, give it a shot. otherwise its trippy and weird
Black Cat ~ Quite a few good moments, but overall its just ur average anime imo
Ghost in the Shell ~ very good series - would definitely recommend (and did in fact above Tongue)
Daphne in the brilliant blue ~ not all that good - characters are meh, and the boobage isnt that good. best episode is the first special though; i laughed heaps

sift through at ur own leisure - gotta get back to Maid Guy (no1 fucks with the Maid Guy)

it'll depend on when the DVD comes out - Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo wasnt subbed until like a year after it was released.
DB said they'd sub it then (and other groups prolly will as well) - i think i heard somewhere the release date is oct08
