Nope, I watch most in subs. Gawd, the first time I heard some in English I felt twitchy and weird. Then my sister ALWAYS laugh at its audio. So I gave up and we watch it in subs. Some are better in subs if you're a fast reader...

Even if I buy the dvds I never watch the dubs. I only ever watch dubs if I honestly have nothing better to do with my time and there just happens to be some dub airing. My guess is that most of the stuff that makes it onto the air will already have been viewed by most avid anime viewers over a year ago. For me three quarters of the enjoyment is lost in translation and dull english voice acting lol

I always watch fansubs. I only buy anime when they are available on Borders or somewhere legal.

I only ever watch dubs if I honestly have nothing better to do with my time and there just happens to be some dub airing. Ditto there. Also, I have friends that download subbed anime even though they understand Japanese perfectly...because the raws are usually too heavy... The main thing that sets subs for me in the voices. I read the books regularly, but rarely watch the anime. That comes when I become too curious for their voices. Don't remind me off the painful experience of YuGiOH dubbed version.... YUgi is just.....AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! Last time I saw the Yugioh dub at my friends house, I couldn't stop laughing. *lols at the memory* I also found that they change the joke or the nuiance of the conversation sometimes when they dub it, because they have a problem with matching phrases to the movements of the characters. *shrug*

I reckon the Japanese version is funnier. (ドロー!モンスターカード!) Every other anime stuffs up the voices if in English-_-. I mean, has anyone watched Kiddy Grade in English? It's horrendous ><
i know what u mean - specially like the *cutesy* characters. i watched a bit of an ep of steel angel kurumi in english, and hoooollllyyy shiiiiit it was awful (and i didnt think it could get much worse with that series ) also had a go at Kannazuki no Miko in english - felt like disembowelling myself >_< I feel so sorry for you >_< Kannazuki no Miko is one of those anime (namely YURI ) that can't be watched with English voice actors. Firstly, the scripts are such that they're practically made with a Japanese voice actress already in mind. Secondly, there's usually a dominating/subservient relationship going on between the main characters, something that I have never even seen in an English film -_- On that note, if anyone watches Strawberry Panic with English dubs instead of subs, I'll help them end their misery in any way they wish >.> Damn straight! Moe simply does not work in English....not to mention the dubs kill all the jokes.

I think it really depends on the series....
For fruits basket....I would rather have dubs than subs....
The english voices for "The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi" is ok, so I don't mind either way.
I also prefer Ai Yori Aoshi with dubs over subs....same for "Love Hina", "Midori Days", "DNAngel" and "Someday's Dreamers"
actually there isn't much eng dub series that I don't like...

Gee....he's a handsome fellow. To be honest, a lot of dubs sound like they just pulled a random dude off the street and said to them "Hey - we'll give you $50 if you can read the script to a cartoon out loud"

i watched Evangelion in dubs. I am alright with that though. But if I can choose, definitely jap audio with subs over dubs. Dubs feel weird especially with words like moe, or honourifics. Chiyo-chan anyone?
