is it .mkv?
that file type is like.. some dynamic video or something - like DVD you can switch on/off subs, but sometimes they dont work... u-u;;

yep its .mkv. I use CLassic media player and i have ffdshow as my codec, but still i cant find the option for subs  Sad

AVI is an inferior format Ben. If your PC can play H264 properly, then there is no reason to go back.

Have you checked Filters for any options in MPC ie. right click for the menu?

the fact that you have to check and change things is so annoying T___T,,

i think reinstalling the player works sometimes...

you can try uninstalling everything, then installing CCCP codec pack. it might help, but in any case, its generally the better codec pack to go with anyway. its a lot smaller too, only 6ish mb i think.

alternatively, when you play it with your current setup, on the tray icon you'll prolly get the ffdvideo icon, just right click that and select the subtitle.

alternative 3: you can do it from within MPC too. At the top, theres File, View, Play, Navigate. Click navigate, then subtitle language. sometimes thats greyed out for w/e reason. you can also try Play , filters, and yeah, look around there.
