After being traumatised by the horrible movie Dragonball Evolution (although the flying kameha, was like LOLZ). I decided to watch the new series Dragonball Kai. Not too bad, opening is cute and the ending... ZOMG! the ending has "kamehameha!" in it!  WAI! KAWAII!!! X3 But the episodes... You kinda think it would be like nicely repainted or redrawn like the opening and the ending credits are.... But like no. It seems like they just do a whole re-run of Dragonball Z =.=; And yes I'm aware that Dragonball Kai is like a re-make of Dragonball Z again, kinda like FMA. but still.... I was expecting a few differences here and there. The only difference that I foudnw as the background music... Well I think. Seemed a bit more 'contemporary'. Anyway has anyone else seen it besides me? And if you have, what you think of it? Personally.. It's ok... Could've been better. But man.. I miss Dragonball series... Those were the days. ^^ |

Lol yea, I'm following it, but seriously what they did for this was they just took the dbz manga, coloured it and made it into an anime. especially the 1st episode, it was basically chapter 1 of the dbz manga.

I couldn't stand Goku's voice in kai, so I decided to go back and rewatch Z. The differences in what they cut out was quite noticeable.
Example: Episode one of Kai shows up to when Raditz appears at Kame House. In Z that took 3 episodes to get to.

Yeh that's what I thought Kai was meant to be a re-edit of Z, but I still thought they would make the colours more bolder like they did with the opening and ending credits of the episode ;_; And wow.. I think it is. Cause I remember playing a really old DBZ game that had the Jap VA's in it. But I think it's great that they manage to get the same people to do the VA of DBK. Even though Goku's voice is annoying... Although I'm surprised how cool Piccolo's and Vegeta's voices are |

I would say it's definitely the same woman. AFAIK they didn't recast anything, this was just a straight re-edit job to cut out filler and make the story go faster. |
