I've seen my fair share of movies/anime/dramas/tv shows involving robots and a couple of those where they deal with the issue of love between robots/androids and humans. The future is among us and soon robots will be among the population and part of our daily lives. I use to believe that love between a human and robot is wrong, but in these times where we have choices and options it can really go both ways at this point, with me leaning more towards it is okay (i think). Is it REALLY okay???

Zettai Kareshi says it's okay... xDDDDDD
it harms no-one if you love a robot i think more of an issue is what happens when you don't want the robot anymore ;____;

Well, it's pretty weird, but my opinion is that if they've got AI, people can love them. If not, it's not really love, is it.

Of course its ok, I love my laptop, and my desktop(technically speaking has the same internal structure as a robot), and as soon as I get them, all the peripherals for them. And in the case of androids, they can technically be mechanically enhanced human beings, so its all good.

LOL actually i just finished zettai kareshi. but not just that but everything that ive been seeing has slowly started to make me think that its ok. while i was watching it i thought 'nahH this aint gunna work' (and mizushima hiro has nice hair) but slowly i started thinking that it could actually work if the robot itself can live upto the expectations of what love consists of, provided it has an incredible AI like Night.
and then theres the androids which are technically robots, but human also, which i would think would work much easier than just a robot.... or will it? i mean if the AI of a robot can choose the best choice to respond to a situation with a beneficial outcome, doesnt that make the robot more superior than humans?

Rule 1, AI hates humans, NO matter how powerfull the AI is, there is bound to be a way for a human to screw up its calculations.

yehH i suppose thats true. and with that said how do we program 'love' into a robot in the first place when we as humans dont know what it really means other than being a very complicated thing lol

If I put some actuators and a VIA-nano in this doll then its quite possible (I can think of a few guys) that will love a robot. But need a large memory bank for data mining unless you want a dumb robot. I've been thinking of making one for a while lol but my mum watched Zettai Kareshi and wants a male one =_=;;. But I don't see any problem with loving a robot. It's like loving a Gundam. -> Look at Setsuna F. Seiei. EDIT: Nikolai Tesla loved a pidgeon his whole life and he invented AC electricity so I don't think loving a robot is too much of an issue.
