Hey, m' name's Kate and I want to know more about your club and such, I'm thinking of joining! 

Brief intro, I'm 20, I like anime and manga and have been into it since I was 15. I also enjoy western cartoons and I like reading webcomics as well. I draw a bit, but I'm still learning.

So what kinds of things do you guys do in the club? How many members are there?

Anyway as far as I understand, Anime sydney is more of a collection of clubs in sydney.

Ah sorry, forgot that part. ^^;

The JAUWS anime society at the Penrith Campus, I live in Lithgow which is about an hours train ride away.

Ah JAUWS. Whilst I'm not actually a representative of JAUWS, it is technically my local anime club.

Anyway, JAUWS does the standard anime events like screenings, going to conventions, etc. They also have the occassional movie outing with dinner (usually just at Hoyts in Penrith), gaming days at UWS and trip to the city (like the ice-cream social in two weeks). As for members, hmm...its been awhile since I've actually counted, but let say around 20 active members.

If you're interested in finding out more and talking to people, its probably best to jump onto IRC. They have a pretty active chatroom, though it gets a bit crazy in there at times.
