So....its Gunpla MKIII what does everybody want to do? ill be bringing my airbrush and compressor rig! For those guys who have built models who are thinking of painting it this is a great time to bring them along, ill teach you guys how to prep and airbrush it. If you guys are unsure of what paint to buy, see me at the shop a few days prior if you want to discuss paint selection and what else you need on the day.

Here is a quick list of what you will need if you want to paint it.

1 x pack 50 of bamboo skewers ( If you have an MG kit triple it! If its a PG then you better go nuts!  XD)
1 x Block of white polystyrene foam ( stuff they pack electrical goods in, i usually source mine from retravision's dumpster)
1 x pack of blue tack ( or a bunch of the smallest alligator clips that you can buy, I get mine from Jaycar @York St, this is more expensive but its less time consuming when mounting parts while spraying)
Dish washing detergent
Paints and Primer

If you are new and have never built one it would be wise to pickup a tool set to go with your kit $22.50 less your discount. I also bring tools along on the day just in case. Hope that I can share a few more techniques on the day for all you guys who are keen to step up to the next level.

@ Aether this is what's in the tool kit

http://www.hobbyco.com.au/product/show_item.php?plu=G0033732

Ok cool, I'll do decal tutorial on the day, decals aren't really that hard, I've perfected a technique that is practically fool proof all you need is a cotton bud Tongue I'll also show you guys how to decal big areas with the use of decal additive especially useful if you are doing big complex curves.

oh btw rhyan, thanks for showing me the glue last time. you are right, it is better and far less messy than the needle dropper type. its unpainted (mostly). i'll be there again this coming gunpla event to learn from sensei rhyan how to airbrush stuff.

Stop growing so fast!!! a hippie might mistake you for a weed, roll you up, set your front on fire and start sucking on your rear end.

Do you mind explaining what to do before making the model? I only remember something about dipping the model frames into warm salt water.

^^ No worries! always here to help and share what I know  Smiley

^ Thats what I will be doing on the day, ill go through all prep work down to spraying. I wash frames in warm soapy water to get rid of the mould release residue prior to spraying.

Oh guys BTW do we still have access to that room that's got the spray booths? or do I need to bring my own booth?

*raises hand meekly*
I've never made a Gunpla before. I have, however, watched every subbed episode of Keroro Gunsou and the Gunpla-building episode of Genshiken..... but no... that doesnt mean I have any experience Tongue

I was hoping to do something reaaally simple on the day. How much am I looking at both time and money wise?

^  If you've never built a Gundam kit before I would suggest starting of with a High grade kit i'ts not to complex compared to the Master or Perfect Grade kits. There's a big selection of nice HG kits in the shop average price is around $25.00. Don't worry building these kits are pretty straight forward, plus there's a lot of us that can help u out if u ever get stuck XD

i think paint is option for the pros O_o like you dont haveta paint it...

as for tools the basic stuff gets provided...olike the knife thingy....the clippy things you use to chop the plastic off...as well as sandpaper and the mats .......

they teach you all these tricks to do nice finishes and stuff ....put paint.. like the airspray stuff is optional...as well as the lining stuff xDDD

as you can see im not gundam expert xD but yeh.....paints are optional xD but look epic ;DDD
