^ Yup paint is entirely optional, i'm just giving you guys the option if you want to paint your model...either way I'll be doing some airbrushing demonstrations and alot of other stuff on the day, I'm sure you will get something out of it. i'll be bringing alot of gear with me so I got things covered especially little mishaps and running repairs just incase you break something aye Viv  XD

Ahh gundam, great memories of ruining my 1/100 MG Gundam Zeta when i was little, Yay for paintbrushes and permanent marker!

Cant make it for the Gunpla, but i'm still interested in learning how to prep/sand/paint a gundam properly, would you be able to link any good
tutorials?

edit: Said PG instead of MG  OH NOES!

in order of complexity roughly (FG and SD are pretty similar level, and there can be some debate about where the no grades fit in)

FG = First Grade, these are 1/144 and the detail is very low, but they are super easy to put together, cheap too
SD = Super Deformed, (read Chibi), they tend to have varying articulation, but are easy to build, some have more detail then others, and they usually require some serious painting to look good
HG = High Grade, these are 1/144 scale, these are pretty well detailed might need a bit of painting
1/100 no grade = these dont really have a grade hence no grade, i personally place them above a HG and below an MG, but some people say they arent as articulated as an HG, they are reasonable difficulty, usually need a bit of painting
MG = Master Grade, these are 1/100 and very detailed and well articulated, usually require very little painting
PG = Perfect Grade, these behemoths are 1/60, and are insanely detailed and insanely expensive, these look amazing even if just built out of the box, but after you spend that much on one you tend to paint them

this is just a basic overview btw, come find me on the even for a more detailed explanation

if you havent built stuff before i recommend starting at a SD or HG, if you have some experience with model kits then perhaps a 1/100 NG

^ Yup just like what Tom said... I just recently put a post on our Gundam facebook page about starting out on a HG model if you are a beginner http://www.facebook.com/hobbyco.gundam.australia

Definately worth making the effort coming along this Sat if you are a noobie! there are alot of guys in the club who sleep and breathe gunpla. it may be daunting building your first model but if you do it right you will get hooked especially if you learn a few simple techniques that will make a good model turn into a stunning model, in a few months you find yourself with a stack of PG models in your closet heheh aye Tom  Cheesy.

I'll be doing lots of demo's on the day so feel free to pick my brains XD plus I have one of my staff members coming along as well so we can guide you through any hassles... Saturday should be another fun day!

ahhh sounds awesome - can't wait now Cheesy

i'll be there at the store sat morning, n shall be getting the "1/144 HG FA-78-3 Full Armour Gundam 7th" Cheesy
looks like a pretty kick-ass model for an HG.
interested in the cost tho (just so i know how much to bring xP) - was I correct in recalling reading 25% off for us animeunsw members on the day? [nm: read it was 20% in the other thread Smiley - still intrigued as to the price tho ^_^]

*excited*
