8D SOCIAL EXPERIMENT TIME!
Hey all, what do you make at home :]? I'm running out of recipes and most websites cater for a housewife audience. *If anyone has ideas for sausages I will love you forever. I have like 45+ leftover from the bbq in the fridge >_>
Egg on rice: 1. Get a bowl of rice 2. Crack in an egg 3. Mix that shit up and you're set
Stolen from andrew last week lol, not bad but the rice was too dry -> more suited for frying

I normally crack an egg into my pot of 2/3 minute noodles while they're still cooking and mix it all up for some tasty goodness. Maybe even little chunks of chicken breast or already cured sausage/twiggy sticks.

Thought the egg cracking bit was mandatory for all noodles :/ Otherwise it'd just be too sad of a meal and OMG TWIGGY STICKS!! Can't believed I forgot them! Haven't touched them for like 10 years >_>

I tried potato + sausages a few times :/ Does gravy make much of a difference? The sausages themselves are already pretty salty T_T

Egg on rice was the one thing I regretted trying when I was in Japan. I used last week to make it up to myself! It would have been much better if the rice was boiling hot, straight out of the pot, and more moist, as you said.
I like my food plain, so I'm content with just eating sausages >.< Same with plain rice and noodles.

@Tu, just realized that adding gravy would introduce a new animal into the mix! Good call, one more step closer to creating the mythical balanced meal D:
Aarghh! ok for now, I'll go with surprise sausage snacks tomorrow. That should be 2 down, 44 to go. I should rename this thread to like, sausage diaries or something

garlic herb prawns:
Ingredient: ~Prawns - peeled, leave the tail on (save the prawn heads but wash it well) ~2 large cloves of garlic, minced ~juice from 1 small lemon ~finely shopped parsley (about 1-2 table spoons) ~two spoons of butter ~2 tablespoons of cognac ~1 tablespoon of freshly chopped chili (optional)
method:
1.)sweat the prawn exoskeleton & head with butter on a very hot pan until you can smell the aroma and the juices starts to come out of the prawn heads. keep going until they turn nice and red, then squeze out the juices onto the pan and add garlic. 2.)add the prawns until all liquid is evaporated and add a pinch of salt, add cognac and the lemon juice. keep cooking until the prawns are white and almost done and the liquid evaporates. 3.) add the parsley and chili just before it is done and toss it around.
to turn this into pasta sauce:
sauce ingredient: ~tomatoes (i normally just use 2) ~1 medium onion, diced ~pepper ~white wine ~2 tablespoon of olive oil ~4 crushed cloves of garlic (use less if you do not like garlic but i like mine with lots of garlic) ~any remaining juices from the prawns above ~half a teaspoon of thyme.
method: 1.) on a hot frying pan, brown the onions with olive oil until golden then add garlic until its aroma comes out. 2.)puree the tomatoes and add to the pan and let it reduce. add pepper. 3.) when it is reduced to about half, add a splash of white wine and add the remaining juices from the prawns and thyme. 4.) boil your choice of pasta, add the prawns and pour the tomato sauce over it. serve with chopped parsley, pepper to taste and mozzarella cheese. though i like a pinch of nutmeg with it too.
recommended wine to go with this a light sparkling wine with it as appetizer and a semillon with it as pasta meal.
ps. i made this for dinner yesterday with some fish fillet that i found in the freezer. feel free to modify it to suit your fridge and pantry. oddly enough i felt unmanly cooking the stuff like what i wrote above, but every time i am having red meat made me feel like a caveman. If i have to choose between civilized domestication and wild men, swinging around a stone club; i will choose civilization any day of the week. mainly because if i dun like it i can run off for the evening.

^_______^ how would you like your own slaying process be for calling me a bride? brutal, fast and messy or entertainingly slow and agonizing? or my personal favorite: deranged-psycho mutilation; physical mutilation and mental torture and letting you live within an inch of sanity and removing every means and reason for you to exist leaving you begging for death without the means to attain swift salvation, served with being left limbless in an abandoned mine amongst the carcass of everyone you hold dear? to top it off, just for extra service for you, i will do it while wearing an elegant butler, cute maid or your choice of moe outfit. just kidding. i cook when stressed. its my stress outlet alongside martial arts sparring, kendo, archery, shooting and making robots. sharpening knives is also stress relieving for me.
