What are the benefits of being on the Executive Committee?Being part of the AnimeUNSW committee can help you develop people skills, help you learn to work as part of a team as well as taking independent responsibilities, and organisational skills. In additional to the technical benefits you will make new friends on the committee and be in a better position to meet so many new people you will have a hard time remembering all their names.
Being on the committee of a club or association is a fantastic asset to any type of resume and is very attractive to employers of all shapes and sizes! Not only does it make your resume stand out, but you will also gain practical experience in a number of areas (some role specific – this is where your choice of position is relevant!).
Finally the most obvious benefit, you are going to have fun!
What are the requirements?* You will need to be a student at the University of New South Wales and a member of the UNSW Japanese Animation and Manga Society(AnimeUNSW) for the duration of the 1 year term after being elected
* Due to new ARC regulation, all members of the executive need to be members of ARC
* You need to be aware that taking on an executive position is an unpaid volunteer position
How will the voting take place? The candidates will give a short speech explaining why they wish to take on the executive position and why they feel they would do a good job. The candidates will then leave the room and voting will commence. Voting will be conducted by a show of hands, unless the candidate is running unopposed. If there is a tie situation, then the outgoing president, treasurer and secretary will decide a means to break the tie.
I'm interested in an executive position. How do I nominate myself? To nominate yourself, please send an email to
eve_li@hotmail.com with your name, degree, year of graduation and the positions you are interested in.
