For experts
server: rizon
channel: #anime@uts

For the Beginners

Chatting on mIRC

   1. If you haven’t ready done so download mIRC http://www.mirc.com/ (a real time chat program).
   2. Install and run it.
   3. In the mIRC options window fill in your details.
   4. From IRC Network select Rizon and click "Connect to IRC Server".
   5. Once connected, you can enter the channel #anime@uts by either entering it in the mIRC Channels Folder window or in the prompt type "/join #anime@uts" (without the quotes).

Just so you don’t look like a totally newbie in mIRC:

What is that "@" infront of some people’s nicknames?

People with @ infront of their names are ops, meaning they can kick or
ban you out of the chatroom if you are being rude or obnoxious.

How do I make that purple text?

The command is "/me hits you over with a trout". It will turn out:
*yournick hits you over with a trout

How do I open a new server without disconnecting from the one I’m currently on?

/server -m irc.newserver

Notice the "-m".

ALTERNATIVELY

Go to:
http://qchat.rizon.net/?channels=anime@uts

1. Type in your preferred nickname in the 'Nickname' box.
2. Type in #anime@uts in the 'Channels' box.
3. Ignore the 'Identify to NickServ' checkbox for now.
4. Hit connect.
5. Sit back, wait for the room to load.
6. Say hi~!

I highly recommend people to join the IRC chat, whether you are a new member looking to join in the fun, or an existing member who wants to find out what's happening. It can be slow and uneventful sometimes, but you can instantly talk to club members and other like-minded individuals (they usually lurk though, so don't expect immediate replies).
